In a study conducted by Dr. Vijay Kulkarni, andrologist, Mumbai, the tolerability and efficacy of the herbal medicine SPERMON SG was tested on 31 adult males suffering from idiopathic oligo-asthenospermia to measure changes in seminal parameters. They were given medicine for three months.

A statistically significant increase in sperm density and sperm motility was observed in 84% of the men, and positive morphological changes were observed in some men. In all 31 men, sperm density (count) increased by an average of 67.6% and sluggish linear progressive sperm motility (sperm motility-B) increased by an average of 33.4%. Both these values are statistically significant.

Out of 31 men treated by the drug, four pregnancies occurred during the study period of three months. A thorough clinical examination, biochemical and haematological studies of each patient were carried out at the start and the end of the study, and no reported clinical, biochemical, or haematological adverse effects were found.
